Since I moved here to Riverside I met a dear friend, S/O Kiki, and last year she introduced me to getting flash tattoos on Friday the 13ths. I've been INTENSELY debating on getting one today for traditions sake...just in case you are unsure what a flash tattoo sale is, it's when they offer a couple or a few sheets of tattoos for a discounted price and usually they're traditional type or it's like geared towards the event. Anywho, I ended up getting one of Jan.13 '17 and another a couple months later at a flash sale supporting funds for Planned Parenthood, which was another whole experience and all in all they both are amongst the greatest experiences of my life!!! Both times, I felt so LIBERATED by the concept of choosing permanence just because I wanted to make a difference and, rather internally or externally, it made me feel like more of a woman in some way. Although tattoos can be removed these days, most of us enjoy the freedom of making things permanent in our lives rather it creates a service or disservice to us. A lot of the times, especially with us women, we don't have such freedom and we are forced to or even used to accepting things we can not change. What if we could change it though? What if our perception was thrown off by complacency? If we look at the problems we face in a different light or rather darkness, it's easier to see our lives with or without said object of permanence. We have a way of seeing things we're used to as permanent and unchanging especially if it has been CONSTANT...consistency is key. One thing I realize that if you really want something to stay PERMANENT in your life, you must show up everyday requesting it, demanding it, and pleading for it to be in your life and forever apart of your being!!! That is what I think permanence means, having something or someone be so much a part of yourself that it never leaves and just sticks on you like...cat piss. I love cats so I can say that, but I leave you with this, don't go through life accepting artificial permanence, make it real and fully accept it.
